Winch Help!
« on: April 16, 2006, 17:39:15 »
I have the winch in the picture on my 110, its the hydrolic type. I found yesterday it works ok (powers in and out), but has no power. It will not pull the 110. I have not had time to have a good look at it yet, I will tomorrow.

But what are the things to look for?

I know the pto drive is working, but what else?

Hmmm. it could be that your pressure releif valve is set too low and is just releasing all the pressure as soon as tension comes on the wires....

i saw a Knob at towcester had one it had no power untill they raised the engine revs then it pulled so slowly but it worked

It will pull ok with no load. I had it in 2nd (3 speed auto) with high revs and it would not move the 110.

No load speed seems ok. Just would like to get it going or its coming off. First offer to Mike!! I would like to keep it but its no use to me if its not working. I will have to try to find a winch place around here to have a look at it.

Maybe the PTO needs to be engaged properly.

It could be turning ok in sympathy with something else in the drive until it gets a load and it then stops.

I will have a good look later this week.

Mike, I will give you the 1st chance "IF" it comes off. But I will do my best to get it working.
