Calling all 110 owners.....
« on: April 18, 2006, 17:47:46 »
I've got my rock sliders lined up for the 110, but having done a trial fit at the weekend it appears that I'm missing a chassis outrigger (Richard at Mill Services did say that this is sometimes the case on hard tops !). So, I'm gonna have to make a fairly substantial bracket for the end of the slider nearest the back wheel.

Could one of you really nice 110 SW guys take a pic of the drivers side outrigger that's nearest the rear wheel - on a Td5 it's the one nearest the fuel pump, and then either post it on here, or PM me for my email addy.

Many Thanks Chaps,

Jim

Right Jim.

I took these earlier, I presume it's the correct item.

Hmm?
A suitable candidate for Waxoyling when the weather improves

But will it be the same item, as your signature states 'Hard-Top'?

I have a 110 hard top and didn.t bother with the rear crossmember which if I remember correctly is there to support the CSW body work - I just attached the tree slider to the actual out rigger and have never had a problem

OK, had a chance to compare BTM's pics (of a SW rear chassis outrigger) with my 110 (HT - no rear outrigger !), I can see what is not fitted to the hard top chassis, and it should be fairly straightforward to construct something - but looking at the first picture, it seems that the outrigger runs across the top of the main chassis member, is it one lump of box section that runs right across from one side to the other ?

Big Watty - I did consider just using the two mounting points for the sliders (A post to chassis bolt, and outrigger under drivers door), but as I plan to use the sliders to jack up the vehicle, thought it best to have substantial mounts at either end and in the middle - at the moment, only the front and middle of the slider would be fixed.
