Tricky Question

OK, so I am thinking of re chassis'ing the WIDOW - BUT I dont want to take her off the road, so heres my query...If I can get a galv chassis, and recon some axles and gearbox etc, can i still claim it as the WIDOW when i swap the body/engine over?????
I know theres lots of 'tax exempt' 90's out there, but i will be keeping her leaf (maybe parabolic!!)

I am not sure but i think by only keeeping the original engine and changing the gearbox, axles ect all in one go you may end up with a Q plate.

Anyone able to clarify?

As long as you are replacing like-for-like you should have no problems. The I.D regs are an attempt to stop everyone jumping on the tax-exempt bandwagon .  (ie t-e 90s etc)

go on the DVLA website and check the facts,
but ive checked with mine and you wont need a q plate or owt.

only if you change alot of major componants.

Hi, I have enquired about this as I was going to to do mine. If you buy a new replacement chassis you can have it with the old no. stamped in, therefore, no problem!!. Ask the chassis manufacturer.
