After essentially being called a 'Lawn Ornament' by a   certain person who shall remain sort of nameless
('J-W')

I'd actually been planning to do this for a while, but hadn't found any decent box-section laying around yet :roll:
yesterday I found a 3foot length of 1" box laying by one of the skips at work, so it was 're-appropriated'

The seat rails were measured with a (crimped :? ) tape measure at 18"
Perfect!

Cut it, drilled them, painted them.
Unbolted seat.
B*****r!!!!
Too short :x  

I guess the crimp (stood on at some point?) made the difference

So for the time being, a hacksaw  has made all the difference, I'll have to find some more & use a new tape :oops:

I have never known ANYONE who needs to raise the height of a defender seat  :lol:
Does it have sidesteps or a rope ladder :lol:

My Dad raised his 90 seats because he was fed up with rubbish leg room and looking a *bit* short in it.
He used 2x2 timber under the seat fixings under both of the runners.
Nice and simple but very effective.
He finished the job with red gloss (to match the car) and it looked great.
(my dad is a great Carpenter so the finish was super'b)

I suppose 3years of Discovery driving got me used to a low dash & hence view through the bottom of the windscreen.
It's the thing I don't like about the Mondeo, but it's practically every modern car... the disappearing front end
My dad's got a Vauxhall Meriva & that's even worse

I'm just under 6' and one of our 110's has the front seats raised by an inch. Doesn't half make a difference to legroom.

I never hit anything & managed quite adequately, but SWMBO was using it as her car as well & she couldn't see the near-side corner, so it came off & into the load-space.

Apparantly when she was in it, she never lost the good old 'Last Space In The Car-Park' game :lol:  :lol:
