Just worked mine out. Over the 1000 miles I have owned it I seem to be getting 22 mpg. Thats all sorts of driving, but all of it to and from green lanes. Its a 110 HT 200TDI 3 speed auto. So yes yours should be doing more.

the auto shouldn't make that much difference to economy if you are cruising at motorway speeds though.
I get 22 mpg on everyday stuff which like yours is a mix of green laning and travelling on country lanes to and from work.
What the other thread hinted at is tyres and appendages lowering figures. Certainly in my kit car with the roof down I loose a couple of mpg, so the roll cage on the 90 is probably going to be 1 or 2. so are they tyres and the lift, so even if thats 1mpg for each that's around 3 mpg on top of the 25 making 28 mpg for 'normal'.
What I don't want to do is chuck £100 or more at finding a problem for it not to be that if you see what I mean, If if I eventually do find the problem every £100 would take 5000 miles to break even if I saved 2p per mile.
So if my fuel consumption is considered lower, where do I start - what can I check that's not going to cost money (I'm comlpetly broke!)? I've replaced all filters as well as both lift and high pressure pump... What next? The oil does need changing but that doesn't affect fuel consumption that much does it? Anyone got some of those timing widgets?
Thanks again
Matthew
