Quick winch advice please
« on: April 29, 2006, 09:29:13 »
I have the chance of a Warn tabor 9000 winch today and looking at the spec's it draws a lot of power

http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/warn-tabor-9k.htm

can this be run from an unmodofied MY03 discovery?

Thanks

Steve

it should be ok if youve got a decent battery, you might need a second. the winch will only draw what ever power is available

If you are going to work the winch hard, you will need a second battery, preferably a deep cycle one. However, for light use (occasional recovery rather than winch challenges!) a decent power battery and keeping the engine running while winching will be fine.
