WaxOyl/Paint
« on: May 02, 2006, 16:48:50 »
Spent half the weekend cleaning up the underside of my 90 with a beast of a jetwash that I borrowed and was pleasantly suprised that most of the chassis was in much better condition than I imagined, even cleaning down to the original paint in the engine bay with no rust!  The years of oil leaks and no cleaning ever must have helped!

Anyway, the question is should I just slap a load of WaxOyl over the whole chassis or is there any significant benefit of repainting it first?  I'd rather be told that I can just oil it all......

If you are down to bare metal then somthing like hammerite or a professional alternative (from frosts or the likes) would be a very good idea. then either waxoil or underseal over the top of that :)

Obviously dont bother doing it to an unsound area without treating any rust and repairing and weakness first or youll be wasting time and money.
