« on: May 02, 2006, 20:15:16 »
just come to fit my rear axle diff guard and found ive got a rover type rear axle, instead of a salisbury axle as was my old 200tdi 110
is this normal or is it unique to ex mod 110 station wagons?

cheers kevin
the shinny blue defender with the winch, checker plate body protection, extra seating and windows
and at this point I noticed the n/s air vent wasnt fully closed so lets not forget the mud stained interior and the water logged kenwood 6disc cd

the normal type axle fitted to the later td5 110's AFAIK is common through the range, not sure when they changed over but AFAIK it is a 4 pin diff & is based on the P38 diffs

2002 rings bells, but I could be wrong. But as said above, it's a normal LR axle casing but with a spangly 4pin diff. Really nice bit of kit, too.

1) They're cheaper to replace than a Salisbury, it you wanna service or go locker
2) They're a damned sight easier to replace / service - you don't have to stretch the casing to get at the thing
3) They've been in Wolves and P38 of yonks and have proved remarkabley tough little billies.
4) They smaller and lighter, too.

.......and I want one for the racer!  [-o<

cheers
