Hi ...there is a rep Somerset and West Wiltshire LSR , Andy Noaks , andy@nokes1234.fsnet.co.uk

I am a member of several 4x4 forums , all very good and have a lot of general as well as specific advice but when it comes to the DOC I cannot fault it , everyone is extremely helpful and often humourus .

I 'discovered' this site prior to buying my Disco (previously had a 300TDI Defender 110) and the advice and info led me to getting a pretty much 'troublefree' Disco .

As someone already said , you get out what you put in ...

As the motto goes .. One Life , Live It ...go for it

Update

Well I have joined recently and seemed to get involved with the national straight away.

Very friendly bunch around here, was made very welcome at the meeting and encouraged to get involved straight away.

However, They seem to have a habit of getting stuck (the committee that is) so be prepared to recover one or 2 !

Also, I have seen the off road course for the national meet on the first weekend in June!  Virgin site covering 100 acres of woods...  Should be fun!

No sign of any politics as far as I can see.. But the chairman is a blues supporter which may make it interesting when he meets the wife who is all Villa.  Am I glad I don't like football!

It's nice to know that of all the places a Land Rover can go, anywhere could be one of them!

Remember, when it comes to Land Rover ownership, there is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Section 5, para 6. Pasties must be supplied by visiting Cornwall and Devon members. Proper job.

See you there!

Definitely join as if for no other reason you drive a Discovery

It also means the number of members continues to grow and the club has a stronger voice over issues like NERC. We also portray IMHO a group of sensible 4x4 owners who are willing to discuss issues rather than ignore them....oooops a bit serious there sorry

Anyway I was going to the National but due to head gasket blowing on the M1 junc 22 this morning, if anyone was passing a cloud of steam it was me :(

Now having read this thread and find out that the off road course is fantastic I am even more pi**ed off

So the final reason to join seems to be that only members get to drive the course  .....except me yes I am looking for sympathy

HAVE A GREAT TIME  maybe next year

Haven't been on MUD for a few weeks and just saw your post. We have a meeting tonight at around 8pm at the Royal Oak in Corsley Heath near Warminster (on road from Warminster bypass to Frome). Come along if you see this in time.

regards,
Mark
