Enjoying The Sun. Part 1
« on: May 05, 2006, 21:10:58 »
Some people have all the luck!

I was in Wakefield at dinner-time & had just been to the newsagents prior to calling down for my NAS indicators.
When whilst waiting to get out of Silver Street onto MaryGate, this very tasty Morgan pulled up.

It certainly turned more heads than the 'Max-Powered' Saxo in front of it(y'know one of those where the occupants ears are bleeding due to the stupidly loud (use the term loosely) music)

I have a burnt neck and face after being out in the sun all day. :(

I was wearing a cap and my forehead is still white

Aye, the weather is good, sadly i spent all afternoon in a pub, the girl was too cold in the beer garden.  When i took her home though i saw a lovely old 2a with the door tops and roof off.

I had a great day yesterday. Finished work at lunch time then took Sammy in for the dreaded MOT. Sat in back garden on deck and had a beer then went to pick Sammy up.

YIPPEE, he passed with just 2 advisories.

Going laning with buddies up in the Dales tomorrow so all in all I'm one happy camper !. :D  :D  :D  :D

Surely a soft top landy (or other 4x4) is the best way to enjoy the sun, the morgan's no good in the mud

My uncle used to have a SV90 (i think thats whats it was) and that was awesome in the summer with the roof off.
i wish, i wish, i wish i had a landy,
a fiesta is so boring!!!

The SV was identifiable by;
Painted (I forget the name) a shade of turquoise-y blue
200Tdi powered
Undersized 205 tyres on Range Rover LSE style alloys
Padded roll-cage
Tickford supplied (black) tilt
Special '90 SV' badges on the wings

thats the one.

he also had an air horn on his (i think the person who had it before him installed it) that played the dukes of hazzard jingle.

The bloke he bought it off bought it for his wife coz she told him to she wanted a convertible, she wasn't very impressed when he brought that home instead of a sporty one !

You lot arn't foolishly under estimating the off road performance of Morgans are you.

If you wanted to compete in these events then there is a strict 2 wheel drive only entry requirement. Having driven 4x4s with no front propshaft I would personally take the morgan.

Without even looking at the clips, I reckon it'll be either sporting car trials, or hill-climbing

that can't apply to trucks then becasue i know you can get air horns on new trucks as an optional extra, my dad used to be a transport manager and all the trucks they ran had air horns?!

Yes, I ought to have made that point clearer

Single tone (but with multiple trumpets) are legal on any vehicle.

There's a Fiat Cinquento Sporting around here driven by a kid who's got the 'Dixie' horns
It's so funny to see it & I always wonder how he found space under that timy bonnet to fit them

gotcha, it just beeped normally (if you can call an air horn normal) unless you held it down, but i spose it's the fitting rather than just the using thats illegal. Oh well, thats cleared that up. cheers
