Has Anyone ???
« on: May 09, 2006, 21:55:23 »
Hi All. Has anyone got, or fitted ten inch wide 16" rims to a 110.

I phoned for some new tyres, and the guy offered these to me, but said they stick out a little bit.

I wondered if any mods were needed, and if any other probs had been discovered in the process.

Thanks In Advance.

Wayne.

They will fit fine, as long as you extend the wheel arches a little. But are them 31/10.5/16, 33/10.5/16 or 35 10.5/16?

Yeah they will be fine, you may find the tyres come out past lower part of the arches, but not the tops (i hope).
Ive just ordered some 10" for my 35/12.50/15r BFG muds and i'm gonna have to trim the bottoms of the arches to get them to fit.

Should be fine as they are a little taller that 235/85/16s but a lot wider. You will have to extend the wheel arches a little.

The Lad's 110 has 33x12.5 R16 on 10" Rims ............  they don't catch anywhere    'cept the radius arms    .................  tweaking the lock stops sorted that, but reduced the turning circle a little (more) .........   it is fitted with a 2" lift.

You can probably see my old bus in the background ........  that has 265x75R16 BFG MT's fitted on 8" rims ................  the rolling radius of both sets of wheels / tyres is as near as dam it the same =31.5" , which I assume is down to the wider rims used for the 33" tyres :?:

If anyone knows better I'd appreciate a "heads up"

Mike

I'm not in a big rush as our bank account has been maxed out doing the "clutch change" oun our Jim's 110  ................    .........  once you factor in the additional cost of engine, gearbox and Xfer box as well as all the other little bits an' pieces I'm sure you get the idea

Land Rovers .................   designed to keep us all poor
