I just logged on and saw this pic and wondered if it was down an old canal as it looks like a lock balance beam on the side and looks very similar to canal structure. Its just a thought. More photos of this would be cool please.

It looks like Bramcote Mains. Which is up this way.

I've not driven my car there but have been with friends, and the advice would be to only visit if you really want to replace your braking system and any other wearing parts, it seems to be made of grinding paste.
