Today I 'av been mostly....
« on: May 10, 2006, 18:57:22 »
Going to the local hospital.... and coming home with my leg in plaster!!!

From my thigh down to my toes.   Lovely  :(

I fell off some rocks on Easter Monday, and my leg hasn't been right since.
Went and saw my GP last week, got booked in for some x-rays and got the results yesterday (a lot quicker than I was supposed to!)

Turns out I've fractured my fibular, and it's got a slight displacement and has not been healing properly... so in a cast and on crutches for a bit. Great......

Just got to wait to see the specialist from the facture clinic on Friday….

Me neither....

I saw the physio at work last week.... he said when you go for your x-ray:

If they just say "the results will be back in a few days, we'll give you a ring when they come in" - then there's nothing to worry about.

If they phone you up the next day, and ask you to go for another appointment, then they've found something wrong....

Well in may case they phoned up about 4 hours later.....

Poor poorly Ian.  Hope it heals quickly for you.

Top Tip:  Don't be tempted by all this sunshine and go out sunbathing....

That was an interesting few days!!!

Have had my cast removed today!!!  :D

Went to the fracture clinic and the doctor said it was up to me whether to have a cast or not... but in his opinion it was not really needed!!!

So I had the choice of keeping lovely full length cast on, or just strapping up my leg as needed    Didn't need to ask me twice.   :!:
I feel sorry for anyone who has to have a cast on for 6 weeks though, it was doing my head in after just 3 days.... (and not nice in hot weather)

Still on crutches though... just need to stay off my left leg as much as possible for the next 6 weeks until it's healed fully.

Thanks again for all the replys.... and Bob you'll get your wheel spacers back soon - just as soon as I've convinced my brother to remove them for me!!!!
