Cant turn my side lights off! HELP
« on: May 14, 2006, 07:52:48 »
I know its early sunday morning after the FA cup final but i`m in a spot of trouble. I discovered my side lights and rear lights on but the switch is off?
the only way to turn them off is to disconect the battery.

Any thoughts
Going off to suffolk camping and need a soloution urgently Cheers everyone

Sounds like your switch is stuck.May sound silly but try switching the lights on and off quickly a few times.and check the wires behind the switch to see if they have shorted out. Or if you have time take the switch out and apart and see if its broken up inside. You may be able to repair it if its just the metal arm or internal spring thats gone

Hi everyone, thanks for the sugestions. Tried the fuse lights stayed on depite being removed?????????? turns out that worn wires in the left wing loom had conected to the alarm live wire hense the reson that stayed on all the time. As the RAC dude (ex army and used to defenders) pulled the loom to investigate the whole  lot caught fire! fortunatly the battery terminals were uncovered and we disconnected quick. The result was six wire burned to [!Expletive Deleted!]. Six bypass wires later fixed and working. Rac man stayed 2 hours. Hear alot of bad stuff said about the various breakdown services me included. Today thet were the very best well worth every penny and pound! The repairs to Berliner are still ongoing. Statring to look good again. Thanks again J99 for the offer of a bumper . managed to get a cheep one. Nice to know the great people of the mud club are around when you need them!
