MPG??
« on: May 15, 2006, 14:26:46 »
Hi,

Out of interest what sort of MPG does everyone get? Ive got a 90 2.5TD and I seem to be able to manage 22mpg at most even on long runs, just trying to work out if this is the norm or not

There are a few threads on this here and there! Search may hold the key to your question.

For my '04 TD5 90 i get an average of about 25-28 normal use. I did however manage nearly 40mpg on a 250mile motorway run the other week, fully laden with trailer but only doing a very tedios 55mph!!!

Might as well run a V8 and enjoy the noise as the fuel disappears!

The last few fill-ups have revealed an average of 27-29mpg from the Td5

My old 110 Tdi (300) used to average roughly the same

The 90V8-CSW......................   (I daren't say, but single figures at times)

Just topped mine up about an hour ago, lets do the maths

Trip states; 164.1miles
Took to brim; 23.41litres

Divide 32.41 by 4.545 to get the amount in English (5.1507 gallons)

Divide 164.1 by 5.1507
Equals; 31.85MPG

It's not bad for a bog-stock Td5 doing traffic-bound school runs, short jaunts, perhaps 20miles of motorways is it?

Well, my 90 is a late 200tdi, 146,000 miles (some of those were even on tarmac!), soft top, running on bfg muds all the while, with a disco t box (doesn't pull 5th very well and tend to use low around town   ).

I get a fairly constant 30-32 mpg. Even towing (only a Sankey but hey) on short trips and laning/off road. But, I rarely paste the living daylights out of it! That's the key.
