We've got 245.70.16 Colway A/T's on ours with a 2" lift and standard alloys. There is a bit of room to go bigger still if we wanted to.If you fancy a bit of a drive to get a good deal try Riverside All Terain at Boston or Sleaford 4x4 (at Sleaford if you hadn't guessed). They don't actually fit them as far as I know, but they are very reasonably priced and it might be worth the drive up the A17.
Here is a good site for discovery tyre size guidence (been posted on here before several times by others)http://members.shaw.ca/jbarge/tires.htmlIt doesn't have the sizes your asking about but similare sizes will give you an idead of what your in for.According to BFG (tyre size charts on their website), 285 tyres will require a 7.5 inch rim or wider, so disco rim at 7 inchs IIRC is too small by a fraction, but the 265 width should fit OK.
