Handbrake ajustment.

Hi.
   I need to ajust my handbrake, can anyone explain how to get the gater off to get at the ajuster nut, i have a 1995 300 tdi disco, i have a Haynes manual, but it is a bit confusing,

I would be grateful for any help.
If it's working leave it alone

Have you done the drum adjuster first on the shoes?

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

no i have'nt is it the same type of thing as what is on a wheel brake drum?
If it's working leave it alone

Yeah.........do it first......then the cable if needed

Dunno about the 300 but its a square block on the back of the drum on my 200

will do it tomorrow, the next job is to fit a new rear floor, should be no problem i have all the gear to do it,
