Illegal 4x4
« on: May 22, 2006, 16:58:47 »
hi this was posted on the discovery owners club forum were i am a member as well but thought i would copy and paste to here as this affects us all and is absolutely disgusting

from martin2388 on the doc

Friday evening at a local nature spot here in Mansfield, the local kids are gatherd enjoying their evening. Next thing you know a 4x4 (not sure what type) comes hurtling over a hill and straight into the group of kids. He aint supposed to be there, (he smashed down two fences) ran over my mates daughter and then reversed back over her. She is critically ill with severe damage to her lungs, heart, and liver and has a compund fracture to her arm. Not a bad way to be when you are 14 years old!!!! The idiot was then heard to say that she shouldn't have been there!!!! No my friend it's you that shouldn't have been there. Thats why you are now facing an attempted murder charge.

What is it with these mindless morons, we have enough areas to enjoy our sport, and enough clubs to give advice, and support with out the need to do this.

Sorry for the rant, but my lad saw all this happen and he aint feeling too good.

Just another example of why we get a bad name, because of the mindless few.

Was it a stolen 4x4 :?:
Pretty damn sure i wouldn't risk damaging my 90 by knocking down fences.

I know its an over used term but prison "IS" too good for the basta*d!!
He needs stringing up. Maybe then when he's swinging in the wind, drawing his last breath, he might reflect on what he's done to this poor family!!

Thanks Dave for posting this.

And thank you to you all for your kind words. My friends girl is stable but still in ITU. They cant do much to sort her liver, untill the other organs have had a chance to recover. As for my boy, well he's 16 and putting a brave face on it but I know it has upset him greatly. Such a shame, he had his first taste of off roading in our disco last week and was looking forward to some more outings. This incident has only served to knock his confidence. It also doesnt help with me being an instructor for a living.

But kids bounce back. I will pass on your thought to the family. I know they will be much appreciated.

Hang on a minute, you are saying this guy is a member of the DOC?Who is he? What kind of justification did he have for being there?
I honestly dont think the vehicle is at all relevant - him being a cock is the major factor. Has he been arrested and if not why not?
Realy sorry about your friends daughter hope she recovers.

Would be nice if we could bring back some of the older punishments - skin peeling and being dipped in a vat of salt would be appropriate in this case.

Fingers crossed for the kids and family, hope everyone recovers speedily from the physical and mental damage caused by the (oh never mind anything I put here would be censored anyway)

Hi Bulli, the culprit wasn't a member of DOC, the member was the friend of the family.
Just trying to protect their reputation!! I'm sure this t*at wasn't a member of any 4x4 club

Having two young daughters of my own, places a perception on life which I previously never had before children.I would kill and die in prison to protect my family.

I can only imagine what your mate and his family are going through, also I hope your son regains his confidence soon.I really hope she quickly recovers from what this moron did to her.
He should be locked up and the key thrown away, though in the real world he will probably be let off with a warning for inconsiderate driving, I know what I would do to the Bstard

I dont think it's a case of no experience because i've never driven off road in my life but i would never do anything like this. More a case of the driver being an idiot with no repsect for the law, other people or land owners. hope he gets a long stay with her majesties compliments!!

Sorry to hear about such a terrible accident, hope the girl recovers quickly and fully.

Reversed over her........ pauses for breath in utter shock!

That's not an accident, that is attempted murder, and the book that is thrown at him should be very large.

Or maybe we could adopt the same treatment of him - form an orderly que to run him over please

Has he been caught, or should I be keeping my eyes out for anyone?

Martin, I know most 4x4's in the area, even the chelsea tractors, if you have any more details send me a PM and I'll see if I can help

my thoughts are the poor girl in ITU and her family.  :(

these people need stopping and we must leave it in the hands of the law to deal with them properly.

we all have our thought of what we would love to deal with these people and i  one can't write what i'm thinking as i would get thrown of the forum.

any details of the vehicle and then hopeful the clubs and its associated forums can help in identify this person an ensure the law is pointed in there direction.

get well soon my thoughts are with you

Ok folks update time. My friends girl is now out of ITU, and on a general ward. She is making a slow but steady recovery. My boy, well he aint saying much but it's only time that will help him forget what he saw.

It's been very touching reading the words from you all and I have let the family know of this thread. Thank you.

I will keep you posted of the girls progress and that of the impending judicial proceedings against the driver.

Tim, sent you a pm mate

Once again, thank you all and to the guys on the Discovery owners club forum too.

Martin.
