in mine there is a plastic thing [technical term] i just cleaned it , but put new rubber seals in as well

The is no filter in there, i know because a few years ago i phoned Bearmach and asked for one, once they had all stopped laughing i was informed to "just take it off and knock out the cr@p"

Don't forget to get a new plastic plug thing for the bottom of the bowl. The original will have seized.
