top gear may be banned?

found on another forum, so take comments with a pinch of salt.

The new series of the show, currently broadcast at 8pm on Sunday evenings on BBC2, is currently being filmed without planning permission for all the noise it causes. The track, at Dunsfold Park, near Guildford in Surrey, is an old Second World War airbase, and has become the focus of a fierce row locally, with residents of the nearby Dunsfold village enraged by the noisy antics of Jeremy Clarkson and his star test driver, "The Stig".The programme’s last planning permission expired on April 30th and the local Waverly Council has served a noise abatement order. "Top Gear" is not the only user of the track, which is also used to host track days and similar events. The airfield also contains a giant "dummy" jet airliner that can be used for fire evacuation training. The local council is investigating reports that the owners of the site regularly allows events that are in breach of planning regulations.

You don't need any order for noise stuff.  The worst they can do is get environment health down, and even then they wont do anything unless the noise is excessive past a certain time of the evening.

I beleive that Dunsfold sorted this out some time again. We have been talking to them about holding an event there. The only thing they cant do is allow the public to throw cars round the track.

And they are working on that.

I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

maybe top gear can be hosted from a small circuit like castle combe or thruxton or oulton park

brand hatch and silverstone will be too expensive for the licence payer coffers :)

hahahahahahhahahahahaha f******* numpties, the airfield has been there since WW2 so pretty much everyone knew they were moving next to an airfield which, unless I'm not mistake tend to have planes landing on them, but now they're complaining about cars?

Time to land a few jumbo jets on the field, that'll cover the noise of the stig.

As Evilgoat said, Topgear are not the only ones to use the site. Many of the hangers contain vehicle companies from formula one to formula women. along with garages and film crews etc.

Indeed we are hoping to hold an event there next year, When i spoke to the cordinator a few months back about booking the site, he said they were having a change round to get more barries opened up as such when it comes to public useage.
