Firestone SAT's were the tyre to have before the mass-incusrions of rubber like the BFG M/T's.
They're still quite good but (sadly) have a couple of major drawbacks;
1. They're a cross-ply & limited (legally) to a speed rating of 'L' (75mph)
2. They can wear rather rapidly on the road, 10,000miles is an average figure before they're ready for the side of a trawler (if you can find one)
On the plus side, they look 'The Biz' & are still good enough for most people who don't compete in winch events.
Have a look on my 'WebShots' page at 'Land Rovers Of The UK'. In particular; FCX 422, PSU 713 & 295 CWR. They are all on SAT's
There is a remould version around called th 'Mud-Plugger', it went out of production for a while, but is now back on a radial casing.
