hi all,
      hope sum one can help me. i have 300 tdi auto 96 reg, blew the head up caused by a worn hose, all changed but engine keeps overheatin badly.
 heater works, put new water pump on, new fan, no leaks, no excessive pressure, put the garden hose through pipes to clear out ne crap,cleaned radiator and it still red hot  arghhhh. please put me out of my misery   :D

Did you fit a new thermostat ?   Not uncommon for these to be damaged in an overheat.

tested thermo its aok put it in boilin water then cold then hot etc etc it works fine.

do i take it that you replaced the cylinder head??
as the two i have done have both needed new heads due to being cracked or warped.

failing that make sure the cooling system is bled thru correctly.are you getting hot air from the heater??

just a coulple of thoughts

yes replaced head, yes heater works, yes flushed all hoses out thoroughly,  thnx for tryin thou m8ty   :D

Have you cleaned the radiator by hosing through the fins from the engine side towards the front of the car? (Nothing higher than mains cold water pressure though!)
Is the viscous fan working properly?

bilge rat ure a genius lol, yes it was lyin to me grrrrrrrr. thnx all for ure help i put new temp sender in and its aok, at last i can try and get my sanity back,
