tow bar modifimication

well i have been fed up with my towbar ( should that be plough  :roll: ) digging and stopping me dead. i have been called farmer brown more times than i care to remember now  :lol:  :lol:  so i have done something about it. this is plan 1. i have cut 4" off the bottom of the towbar so its alot higher now. i will fit the drop plate with towball and antisway on it when i need it. i have also moved the electrics up on to the bumper out of the way. fed up with cleaning the mud out of it  :roll:

if this doesnt work then my next thing to do is spot weld the top bolts in place. this will allow me to undo and remove tow bar in about 3 mins without having to remove the bumper. trust me to pick a really hot day to get the grinder out huh  :lol:  :lol:

good idea, but them electric look vunerable as furthest point to the rear, i put mine on the rear door to the drivers side. you can run cable inside the orginal door trunking

know what ya mean.......i was just fed up with cleaning the electrics out after every offroad day..... :roll:  it is under the spare so hopefully it should be ok. if not i might move it again

so now when you reverse up to your trailer you can smash you tow plug on the hitch :lol:

why dont you bolt an ajustable drop plate onto plate you've got and set it high then its a quick fix

i only tow our caravan and its always set low for hitchin up.....dont tend to tow anything else. i did look at adjustable one but too much money to spend on something i will use 4 times a year   ...good idea though :D  :D

i know what your sayin guys     the misses wont let me spend that much at the moment  :oops:  :oops:    ( atleast im honest  :lol:  :lol: ).

i have just bought one of these to put on the plate at the back as it looked very bar with nothing....
