had the disco 6 months now, ( 1995 300 dti ) been going perfect, dipped the oil every week, done 7000 miles, not a drop used, dipped the oil last sunday, on the low mark, took the rubber cover off the top , oil on the engine, :?: on inspection found oil in the hose from the intercooler, turbo passing oil, bought a second hand turbo ( off an engine which had blown )
done 2000 miles now and running sweet, the moral of this story is dip the oil regulary, dont waite for blue smoke, the inlet manifold gasket had cracked and the oil was being pushed up to the top of the head. hope this helps anybody with the same problem.
