Right to roam!!!.
« on: June 09, 2006, 19:49:26 »
Couldn't believe my ears today when I was listening to the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2.

Apparently the government overspent by 41 million pounds when they set up all the right to roam mallarky for the Ramblers and then when a survey was done recently it turns out that they aren't roaming at all but still using the same paths (and roads!) as they always have!!!.

Now they say they want the right to walk over any private land that is coastline      .

I cant comment on how thick and greedy they are, words fail.

I always feel that sitting round a table and discussing, understanding, and letting people have opportunities is the best policy.

Clearly Im an arse. Ive been wrong. The best policy is to take, take, take, then shout as loud as hell if you dont get your own way.

I really dont feel as if I have a god given right to ramble over someone elses property.

Maybe we should. Maybe we should form a right to 4x4 across gardens policy. Then find some ramblers properties and 4x4 across em. mebbe they would see a right to roam in a different light.

Lets face it, its only a right to legally trespass.
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

The M.O.D. is classed as private.  Can't wait for them to be given the right to roam over Shoeburyness ranges!

May I take this opportunity to point out this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio2/F2142824?thread=3139022 which is a discussion forum on the Radio 2 website about R2R, please feel free to pile in :)

There is also a poll here http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/vine/ where you may cast your vote - 58% at present say that the Bobble Hat Militia should NOT have the right to roam on the coastline.

So as I've said before how can this be open to all people, what about those that cant walk yards let alone miles, would they be willing to carry my wife up these routes so she can view the beautiful countryside

But I suppose that dont count does it, narrow minded pin heads

it will be interesting to see how the Ramblers get on stamping across the coastline, considering a lot of it is classed as Sites of Special Scientific Interest. That would be an interesting court case to watch as a load of them are charged with recklessly disturbing endangered species. I shall wait and see.
