New Wheels
« on: June 14, 2006, 18:53:17 »
Finally found the time to go get my "new wheels" balanced....... only to be told by tyre fitter every single wheel is warped "badly" . Ive contacted www.straightforwardsupplies.co.uk to explain the problem, but have had no reply as yet  .
I know they offer a full refund if goods are returned within 30 days, but ive had mine slightly longer.
The wheels are useless, soon as i hit 40mph the whole vehicle vibrates/judders violently....... If any of you work at straightforward supplies...... please contact me.

if the goods (wheels)are not up to the job then they have to refund or replace them even if past there 30 day period
put your complaint in writing and keep a copy and send it reg post
how long over the 30 day and when did you fit the tyres and any recipts or did you get tyres on the rims when you got them?

They are steel 10x15r rims 8 spoke.
Still trying to find the receipt..........swmbo has been tidying up again and things always disappear. Think ive had them about 5 - 6 weeks, although i aint been using the 90 as the wheels/tyres were illegal until i got the xtra wide arches fitted (which i fitted at the weekend).

Just spoke to the managing director of straightforward supplies and i'm very impressed with how he's dealing with the problem :D .
Soon as i have the wheels removed from the tyres i'm to give him a ring and he's going to get them collected the same day :D , then will send out a new set (which he's kindly going to check for faults 1st).
Well done guys at straight forward :D , shame other companies couldn't make the effort and follow your example of prompt action and great customer after care.

Paddocks are another company who impressed me in similar circumstances this week, see thread in Discovery forum. 'Tis a shame more companies are not like this.

Nice one, glad it has all turned out OK :)
