Door locking problem
« on: June 17, 2006, 12:12:15 »
Another problem to be solved now.  Putton on keyfob will lock the car no problems, but if I press the pther button once nothing happens and if I press it again all the doors unlock except the drivers door which needs to be opened with the key.  I am assuming this is a fault with the door catch, has anyone else had this problem.

Also, why do I have to press the unlock button twice ?  What does it do when you press it once ?

Thanks

your car is currently set for 2 touch unlocking,

one press will open the drivers door,2 press's opens all the doors, this AFAIK can be changed either on the T4 setup that the main stealers have or by plugging into an autologic diagnostic setup,

the disco 2 has the same setup & its easily changed on the auto logic diagnostics

ours is also set up like this... i think its a great idea when swmbo is on her own she can unlock just the drivers door and get in without worrying about all the little scroats in the carpark

So do you all think the reason the drivers door wont unlock at all is a faulty catch ??

Thanks

I would say a faulty actuator. Either the motor is gone, or more likely the wiring is come loose.

Either way, not a difficult job, and not expensive either.

The drivers door catch does click when you press the button but it doesnt unlock.  I guess I will have to strip the door down and have a looksie.

Thanks
