Why do they choose the biggest 4x4 then compare statistics with a family saloon. No mention of the sports cars with the 5.5 litre engine & top speed of 160. If one of them hit you it would make no difference how high it was at that speed it would still kill you.
Rant Over

Nice to see they chose the RR even though she couldn't park it :)

Once again unbiased journalism by the BBC,NOT!!!!  The whole program was devouted to destroying the 4x4 image and making the 4x4 out to be nothing more than a enviromental, child killing monster. The only fly in the ointment for the BBC was the couple they used made the right decision for them and chose the 4x4.

As for the woman targetting 4x4's with fake wheel clamps I hope she never comes near me or either of my 4x4's because I will place the wheelclamp where the sun don't shine making it very difficult for her to get on her bike.

I have always driven very thirsty vehicles and always had 4 or 6 wheel drive.
I am glad that the planet is warming and at least we are getting the benefit of that now, it means that I get to use my bike more often and look at all the people in traffic jams getting all angry and hot

Personally I feel they made the wrong choice, they should have bought a reliable 4X4, not a Rover/Ford product.
And why did they have a V8 model on test, when they said they were going to buy a diesel?

Funniest part was when she said she could feel the power of the thing......Now that did make me laugh, she definately needs to get out more...

Yes ok it's their money,it's a free country etc etc if they want a big thirsty Range Rover that's their choice but i do object to eco warriors taring  my Defender 90(working vehicle, only vehicle) with the same brush as a top of the range, tarmac only monster.

Well said mate, I'm with you on that. Eco warriors and anti 4x4 knobs , they're all full of crap . . . . . much like that pathetic programme last night.

I wouldn't have minded but the couple who it featured were only getting the motor for the image, doubt they could hack the true 4x4 lifestyle, didn't look the sort to me . . . . . and as for the land roverdealers off-road course . . . . jeez, I nearly p'd myself, made the '4x4 Experience' courses look postively extreme

The funny thing was that the woman from Greenpeace who was going around putting fake wheelclamps on all the Land Rovers made a comment about none of them ever having seen any mud......Therefore are 4x4's ok with Greenpeace as long as they have mud on them?

Why is it they always target Land Rover? What about these big Jap 4x4's?
Huge engines and most of them petrol rather than diesel. Also do they ever stop to ask if anyone is using bio-diesel or LPG in their gas guzzling enviromentally unfriendly Land Rover. Maybe it's time we started seeing some stickers around.... "This gas guzzling 4x4 runs on environmentally friendly fuel"....or "Oil burner, yes, chip oil"

If they stuck on of those wheel clamps on my waggon they'd be getting it back and it whould be stuck where the sun don't shine!

Total one sided kack. I watched it from my hospital bed and it made me feel quite ill.

BTW: If you find yourself in hospital don't bother with the Patiantline TV is not so bad at £3.50 for 24hrs. but the Internet service It cost  me 80p just to read this forum and post one message. The phone service is a bit of a rip-off too at 20.p a min. :(
