THIS WEEK I HAVE MOSTLY BEEN DRIVING......
« on: June 24, 2006, 13:30:35 »
This lovely 110! It's a TD5 with chip, air cleaner, exhaust and GKN overdrive.

Done well over a 1000 miles in it this week and was really impressed. I've driven lots of TD5 defenders but this was the best. Towed luxury mobile loos (some weighing in at nearly 4.5 tonnes when being towed on site to the sewer for draining!) without missing a beat!  8)

It's a 53 plate with 111,000 miles on the clock! The only thing I didn't much care for was the Recaro seats fitted. Should've spent the money and got Scheelman!

Got back in my 90 tdi yesterday and wondered why somebody had disconnected the accelerater and brake pedal!!

A couple of more pics.

Firstly, pushing a unit into a marquee with the front yoke bar on a disco 2. Now this was fun. The unit only just squeezed under the frame for the marquee, but was much easier to position using the yoke. A first for me.  8)

Next, threading a unit through two consecutive archways at Cambridge Uni' with a 90 degree bend between the two archways. Add to that the problem of students and bike squeezing past all the while and you get a tricky problem.

Still fun though!

I have always thought about applying for that loo co. I just thought they were a little company down the road from me. I didnt realise they were national.

Have they got any jobs going? I would be quiet happy towing trailers around all day.
