Oil Leak problem
« on: June 26, 2006, 09:02:20 »
Can Anyone help, My Defender has got an oil leak that is I think getting worse, I say I think, because at the moment it is parked on concreate and not grass and looks a lot worse, the drips are coming from the flat peace of metal just in front of the wading plug on the bellhousing, I have wading plugs fitted and was expecting it to go everyware once i took out the plug but it was dry? :?
Has anyone else seen this and if so do I need to panic now and go see the bank manager again?

Thanks In advance.
Tim

Is it engine oil or transmission oil, can you tell?

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

I think it's Engine Oil, it looks to dark to be From the Gearbox.
I was talking to a friend and he said it might be the rear crank seal, but I don't no at what stage is it time to panic, and by leaving it for a bit will this cause any other damage :?
