Flasher unit Disco 1

I have an intermittent problem with the dash indicator warning light.  Ripped the dash apart to check bulb connections, all OK.  Checked the switch seemed OK.

Got to the flasher unit and it seems that if you squeeze the unit the dash lights work OK

Does this sound like a faulty unit or should I be looking elsewhere?

Doesn't sound great - had a similar problem fixed it by a trip to Halfords and a £12 pattern relay.
H19 MJO - 200 Tdi "Elmo" still and always a "work in progress" ;)
C312 GVX - 110 CSW "Bessie" My latest victim - at last a proper Land Rover

Fault Finding

Without appearing fascetious matey... fault finding is essentially trial and error.

It sounds like yer flasher unit has some problems, change it.... if the problem disappears... sorted... if not... well... you know it wasn't the unit!

Good luck

Ordered the new flasher.  Thought I'd have a play with the old one as it will take a few days to arrive.

Gave the old one a big squeeze as this seemed to make a difference and yo and behold it works again! :D

I know this was the problem now probably a break somewhere, so will replace it when it arrives.

Thanks all!
