After reading Andys 'Little known fact' about Rudolph Diesels marvellous invention & its primary fuel source in the BioDiesel thread in the Discovery forum, I decided to test your collective knowledge


Q. What is the connection between Land Rover & the Messerschmitt 262?

I believe the link is one of Land Rover's previous owners - Bayarische Motoren Werke who evolved from the aviation engine production company.

You're closest & in description

The 262 used a B*W003 jet engine & obviously B*W owned the Rover Group, plus they used to the 2.5 6-cylinder turbo-diesel (from the 5-Series) in the Range Rover.
(Vauxhall also used it for the Omega TD)
