Are early disco front axles any good
« on: July 05, 2006, 09:35:08 »
The front stub axle is goosed on the disco and being the cheapskate...(i mean yorkshireman that i am) £65 for a new one seems a bit much when the later ones can be had for £35.

Looking at the prices for parts most of the axle parts are way more expensive for the early ones.

So are the early ones 'stronger' or should i just swap out for a later one(they changed designs for a reason)

I know the axles changed at JA chassis numbers (1992) - the earlier ones (GA and HA) are RR classic as far as I understand it. Whether they are "stronger" I couldn't say.
H19 MJO - 200 Tdi "Elmo" still and always a "work in progress" ;)
C312 GVX - 110 CSW "Bessie" My latest victim - at last a proper Land Rover
