SMOKING - still stopped ?

It's six months yesterday since I packed in smoking - so how come I am sitting here gasping for a bloody fag !
Thankfully craving only lasts a wee while - there it's gone before I even finish typing this ! :lol:
There was a thread around new year where a few mud clubbers pledged to pack it in - how many are still off them ?

I had my moments but must say it wasn't too bad to chuck it
My wife smoked as well so both quitting at the same time fairly helped (if she can do it so can I & vice versa !)
Regarding your chocolate addiction - why not try smoking it ? - it would be very hard to light  :lol:

Tried Minstrels, as they don't melt unless in your mouth, so they say, but got burnt trying to light them!!!!!!! :lol:  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

Thats the thing about it - My mums smoking about a pack a day atm and we're trying to get her to stop. an extra £270 a month would REALLY help...

No I got my own money, she hates it (Got 1 trip round the block before she decided it was too good and went back to her crappy little french hatchback.

She's just moved house, so any extra money would be helpful.

Me and Johnty stopped smoking just under 5 years ago and we never looked back. Trouble is all that money you save never does seem to be handy when you need it........infact we havent really noticed having any spare cash around at all :shock: The joys of having children :(

Well I've never smoked but I've got to say well done there mate, good effort I know it's not the easiest thing to give up.  I used to be very anti smoking 'till someone pointed out that smokers pay more in tax than the country spends on the NHS.  Well if that's true or not I don't know, but it made me think twice about smokers.  That said I still hate it when people light up when I'm trying to eat :roll:

Well even when I did smoke I would never dream of lighting up in a restaurant
Rightly or wrongly what made my mind up back in January was the impending (march 21st.) smoking ban in public places up here in Scotland
The thought of standing outside the pub for a fag just wasn't on - I'm not going to turn into one of these pompous ex smoking anti's but I must admit watching folk stand in the rain makes me chuckle !
Two of my friends own pubs here and despite their initial worry they both agree that business has improved since the ban came in
I will be in Yorkshire first week of August for Pickering Steam Fair and will find it odd to see folk smoking in pubs again

Funnily enough we never had one single argument (well not about chucking the fags anyway   :lol: ) - we both found that if we felt the urge to smoke then it was best to just admit it and make a joke out of it rather than bottle it up
Seems to have worked - this was the first (and last ) time we tried to chuck it and no way are we going back to smoking now :wink:

i smoked a dodgy marly light a few weeks ago that made my throat feel burnt raw, havent felt like smoking since! God knows what they put in it


never was addicted though, only smoked a box a week

I gave up 10 weeks ago from 40 Marlboro's a day
Its not as easy as they make out.
I have been a bit weak though
I cant resist a roll up or 2 when i've been drinking but i'm determind not to smoke 'regular' ciggy's again.
If i just have a couple of rolly's when i'm drinking then i see it as a massive improvement.
Its working so far.

thats great, not many manage to reduce an addiction to only the odd few. Kind of like best with beer, a few is ok, if you enjoy it why not.

I find rolly's worse though, hard to keep track of what i'm smoking and rolling them is a habit

wel done with stoping smoking,it gets easyer as time rolls on have got to say its the best move i ever made, feel loads better.have been stoped 18 months this month. put a bit of beef on at first but soon got shot of that.you all keep up the good work  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D
