Why would You want to?

My old jeep could use 2wd or 4wd on the road and fuel consumption was the same, main difference was that there was far too much power in 2wd it span the wheels for fun and pushed the front on.  Leave it be.

lot of work to do that as if you take the front prop shaft off it wont move as the transfer box has a diff in it. so you would ave to design a new one of them as well  . plus four wheel is much better for cornaring

You would have to drive with diff-lock all the time, I ran round like that as frontwheel drive for a couple of weeks after mangling a rear diff.

Not really sure why anyone would want a 2wd rangie tho :)

yeh, ive been runnign a rangerover in RWD for just under a yr now because the b/w transfer box locked solid and was mashing front diffs, and the rangie has got a nissan 3.5tdi in it, and down here in cornwall on the wet mud splattered lanes it gets v v interesting, spech since we did the polybushes to! it just spins/slides rather than pitching in to corners!

Now a 4 wheel drift on a roundabout looks   a lot better than a 2 wheel slide on a roundabout  . But with 2wd you can power down the road sidewards   never been able to do it with 4wd
