If you need any info on that engine or help with it let me know. I know the engine concerned inside out and what I dont know I can find out.

Only think that would bother me would be gearing and size. The 5 cylinder lumps are quite long and are setup for power at high revs. Untweaked NG (2.3) produces most of its power from 3K to 5K. I would imagine from a commercial this shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Depending on the engine code it MIGHT have an ECU you'll need to do battle with. There may be a Gearbox ECU present too if its an engine from the same era as the van.

I have a crated 2.5T spare engine for my Audi that I've often thought would be good in a landie.

Keep us posted, would be curious to know how it goes. I'm still thinking about a 1.8 Turbo lump frm an RS3 or TT in the Suzuki. And I'm sure MrsM can do you some 'Powered by Audi' stickies.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
