How hot should the gear box get?
« on: July 07, 2006, 18:44:47 »
well first test drive home in the antichrist, and the front prop fell off  , the front bearings had fallen to bits.

but i felt the box and transfer box, and both were to hot to hold your hand on to long, both boxes have had fresh oil.

also theres some nasty noises when on over run, sounds like a cross between creaking parabolics and crunching gears, any thoughts guys?

LT95 4 speed RRC box with overdrive,
15/40 engine oil in main box and 80/90 gear oil in transferbox.

also diffs get a little warm as well.  is it just coz theres a throbbing V8 under the bonnet
