So I remove the drivers door trim to get better access to the bnuts for removing the door hinge when I find this:

I'm removing the spot welded panel and will clean up the bottom frame.
Does anyone know if I can get hold of the 'spot welded' plate that covered the bottom sill :?:

:-) it's repairable, just not sure the right way to go about it, still in Land Rover learning mode, (does that period ever end :? )

That's how I expected ours to look when we opened them up - but was pleasently surprised as all I actually found was this

I've removed the spot welded panel and sanded down the lower part of the frame.
I don't think I'm going to bother to replace it, can't really see what it does :(bigshock):

as far as I can see it does two jobs.

1. Gives the window glass something to rest on.
2. Sits on the floor when the door is closed.

I think if it was on it's worth putting another one in, somehow I doubt LR would have put it there (and it stayed there for so long) for no reason.

And, sorry if this sounds a little rude, but has your 110 had a hard life before you or something? I mean it's a good few years newer than mine but seems to need a lot more work.

Not that I'm aware of, I'm the third owner and it has a FSH with 75K miles.
But, maybe it has:?, or maybe it's just getting to the age when these things need looking at, or maybe I'm too particular :shock:

Anyway, it's been red oxided now, and I'll spray it with the left over Epsom Green I've go from the doing the hinges :D

Good tip Mace, will do once I've finished painting it:-)
I've replaced the two front door bottom hinges and waxoiled the inside of the bulkhead there, (messy job!)
