Bio Fuel & chips
« on: July 13, 2006, 19:37:18 »
No - not a new diet I'm on....

Does anyone know where I can buy Bio Diesel in Oxon/Warks areas?  Due to the ever increasing cost of diesel, and my ever increasing desire to drive all over the place, I'd like to know if I can use bio diesel in my '93/K Hilux Surf, and where I can get it from - so I can keep my jerry can full for when I need it to.

Also - does anyone here know if I can do anything to the ECU (if there is one on the Surf...) to get better torque and better mpg??

Oh, and also - where is a good place to get a suspension lift and a snorkel for the Surf too?????

Thanks everyone....

Assuming you mean a 2" suspension lift- this should be a DIY job. You'll need longer rear springs and some longer shock absorbers. 2"+ rear springs are about £80/ set and shocks about £30 each.

You can get the hardware from these places:

Fitting new coils is fairly easy if ou have spring compressors. You can get 2" lift kits that feature 'uprated' torsion bars for the front axle but these aren't 100% necessary. It's fairly simple to raise the front of the truck 1 1/2" by tweaking the existing torsion bars up a little bit.

You can get ECU re-map boxes from from Diesel Bob:

And snorkels from here:
