tyre size help
« on: July 14, 2006, 19:58:51 »
Probably been done to death but I can't find any posts on it
I have a 2001 TD5 GS on 235/70/r16 tyres - wheels are standard alloys
I would like to put taller tyres on to raise the height and would like to keep original 16" wheels
What is the tallest tyre I could safely put on without having to modify the bodywork etc. - motor will not be doing any (much ) off roading
Thanks

Sorry, but can I ask why you want to put bigger tyres on when it won't be going off road? Bigger tyres do nothing for normal road performance!?

I don't want to enhance road performance - I just prefer the stance taller tyres give and don't want (can't afford ) to go down the route of 18 or 19" wheels/tyres
In other words the current tyres look too "girly"
