Power steering fluid level

Where is the max mark in the steering fluid reservoir or where do i fill it up to. The steering has gone a bit heavy on the 90, i have cecked the tension on the belt for the pump that is fine. The steering occasionaly doesn't want to self centre and goes stiff any other ideas of what it could be?

Sometimes the two U/Js on the steering shaft dry out and cause this.
An overnight soak with 3-in-1 oil should sort them if that's the problem.

As for how far to fill the PAS, IIRC there are two types of reservoir. The later (plastic) ones have a dipstick in the lid that has two marks on it. The top mark is the full one.
The other type is a metal reservoir and I think you fill this one up to the top of the filter thats in there but I can't remember.

i had an intermittant problem with mine, wasnt the fluid or anything like that, was me trackrod ball joints siezed, but it depends if your landy spends every other week sitting up 2 its crossmember in salt water or not  :(
try giving them a clout with a hammer and see it they move, you should be able to move them by hand
also turn the steering and see if the body moves side to side over the axle, if it does it could well be your panhard bush's shot

After giving the UJ's a very big coating in WD 40 the steering seems to have loosened off, seems to have done the trick nicely.

Try a dose of light oil on them, like 3-in1, as WD40 tends to evaperate (sp) after a short time and you may get the problem back again.
