Team Building Day

Quote
Hi all,
Ayone had any good experiences with these kind of days. I am looking to "entertain" 10 of my staff, and had thought about a day that includes activities such as driving, shooting and the like. The emphasis is on having as much fun as possible, whilst masquerading as team building.
Many thanks
David

I trained with, and help out at SAS Survival.  Highly recommended.

At least then you'll know how to do over the bank as a team.

the only thing is i dont think the team building events work

yes they do boost morale and also give people a chance to see their colleagues out of work and have a laugh but team building is a bit different

eg

if you have a selfish guy in your dept who likes to take glory and brag to others, team building wont stop them, esp if you do stuff like shooting, cos they will endeavour to make themselves look good, at possibly the consequence of the rest of his colleagues in his team.

personally i think people's attitudes should be adjusted, and after that will they become better team players

Agreed - that's why humiliating them out on the Brecon Beacons is priceless!

Some people are just wrong for management.  Putting the word "Manager" in to someones job title does not automatically empower them with the skills to actually "manage".

A week on a trawler, crab boat or some offshore sailing would produce a 'team'.
