local scumbags latest idea of fun
« on: July 18, 2006, 20:00:18 »
Been speking with a colleage at work over past few days (she had complimented me on lurch and asked me a few mechanical questions)
She had parked her vitara on the drive last week after returning from a trip down to manchester to see her family and was woken up by the fire service banging on the door

Some scumbags had soaked rags in petrol and lit them under her motor.
Result £3k car totaly written off ,drive ruined, loss of over £1k of personal items in car (she hadnt unpacked everything yet)

Fortunatly the fuel tank didnt blow but the tyres did explode.
The police are investigating - news is that they have a good idea who is behind the arson attacks - this isnt the first in the area - but cant do much until they are either caught in the act or someone gives them up.

next thing you know if that happened they would try and claim against the garage for selling them the fuel the fire service for not getting there fast enougth the police for not catching them sooner and the car owner for having a car

I take it you mean at a reasonably high velocity, & not just placed in with tweezers?

That's bl**dy terrible!

Let the b******s do it on my drive...

Multiple IR CCTV camera's powered by the same system Homeland Security use.

Above is only a screenshot.  Web cam option is available, and it all records onto multiple hard disks when the motion detection is activated.

Caught some scum bags breaking into next door's VW Golf last year.  8)

all you need to do is wire in a small yet powerful firearm and thats the ideal system.
Comes to something though when you have to go to this sort of length/expense to leave your own car parked in front of your own house on your own land before you can sleep knowing its fairly safe

The 'technique' used round here for torching cars was to pull up your wheelie bin to your car, light the rubbish and scarper. Fortunately the little scrotes own bragging led to them being caught before their habit destroyed too many cars.

They'll probably get off with a warning.

That is terrible. It makes me so glad I live miles from anywhere. These scum are far too lazy to bother leaving the towns.

As with all these things, it's good nobody was hurt. If the tank had gone up it might have been a lot worse.

Likewise to V8 - I'm luckily living just far enough out to avoid the bulk of this. Isn't going to stop me getting a Kill swtich for the 110 though.
