Sold my old moble phone on ebay a week or so ago and have been victim of an attempted scammer.
sent following email at end of auction -
I am happy to notify you that i have completed payment via PAYPAL.i want this item shipped as a gift item to my dearest son.He work
for the US government on the international level as a
representative of the (AMERICAN CIA INTERNATIONAL
CRIME DEPT), in "AFRICA".I want you to ship-out the
item directly to him through ROYAL MAIL 1ST CLASS AIR,
as soon as payment confirmation approval has reached you
from PAYPAL notifying you of the payment made for the
item. I also want you to know that i have added extra amount to the shipping cost of the item beause i want you to ship it via ROYAL MAIL 1ST CLASS AIR DELIVERY SERVICE in the morning and carefully inspect and
ensure that the item is in good condition and should
be properly packed as a gift item for my son before you ship it out.

thank you for your support and understanding.ifrst of all i want you to know that i have made payment for the item to you via PAYPAL and i
did contacted PAYPAL to seek for advise after the payment was made on this issue
whether i should authorise them to release the pending
fund into your account and what i was told was no
because they said that they have been expriencing
similar problems of sellers not willing to reach them
with the tracking information of items paid for by
buyers,so that verification can be properly made.
PAYPAL went ahead to warn me that i alone will
bear the risk of loss of money all by myself if i
authorise any release of fund ,atleast until they are
able to verifiy the tracking information which you
will provide.
i feel kind of stucked in this
transaction,infact i am unable to concentrate on the
semminar i am attending in GERMANY.because of having
to mail you in and out,so once again i want you to
make sure you ship out the item as soon as possible to
the address i have provided to you and get back to
them at PAYPAL so that verification can be made.i look
forward to hearing from you positively asap.

Reported to ebay and suprise suprise they are no longer a registered user and theres other bits of feedback to the same effect - user name was wattbrownny05 .
What I want now though are a couple of "select" insults to put on emails for reply next time I get the "where has this item gone arrived here in NIGERIA it has not my darling son is most disstressed etc etc
