The passenger side door lock does not full unlock and you have to lift the button up to open the door i have been told that ther is a spring on the door lock that weakens with age and stops the lock fully opening its on a disco 1 200 tdi. so is this true and how easy is it to replace. thanks

Bit awkward, but if you buy off this guy, you get instructions.  Got mine off him, and an Air-con tensioner bearing kit.

Sounds like the spring has gone.

The link to above seems to be a good buy at about £15 for a five door .

They can be a bit awkward to do, should only take an hour or so to do though. If you have a look at Wizzards web site he has some good pictures on changing the door lock springs.

Pop the door skin off first, and have a look at the connecting rods, I thought this was my problem but after adjusting the link bars and connections all ok

had a similar problem on the boot of lurch when I first got him.
As Marvins back door was in full working order it was actualy easier to swap doors than replace spring
Only thing now is the back door is blue while lurch is green
