Insurance rip offs

Got my renewal throught the post yesterday from Admiral - £890 (up from £850 last year). I thought it was a bit steep so went on confused.com to see if I could get it cheaper anywhere else. Lowest quote that came back was £630 ... from Admiral!

A quick call to them and they agreed to match their internet quotation as long as all details of the cover where the same - as it was the same policy, they matched up and I've got the lower quote.

To think that I nearly just paid the renewal amount!

Tis a regular trick. They lure you in with a good initial price and it gradually (sometimes not very gradually) creeps up.

Have a good shop around, check other threads about htis problem, I had a quote for 850 on a meriva with no no claims being an extra car, after shopping round I payed around 300, there are various companies that specialise in 4x4, if that is waht you were insuring

But  for the car I went through hyperformance, they even quoted me 25quid cheaper on  my disco so when it runs out in sept there is going to be a price war with a couple on insurance companies

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

Am happy with £630 - I've got too many points on my licence, and no off street parking so that combined with a Leeds post code means that I have no choice but to pay through the nose - add onto that that it's a sports car and SWMBO has only been driving for a year and £630 looks like a bargain.

I just don't like the fact that they tried to fleece me for another £260! Makes you realise that you have to double check everything!

it ain't a phantom that is why i can afford a roller, they ain't cheap. A good one will cost ya around 15k and convertibles can go upto 40k depending on model and condition, and that's for something 18 yrs old.

I ain't insured on the pajero, it come with 50k km on clock and just needs a little work, then i'll be on market for a quick quid.

Anyhow all the cars bar the punto are selling, and i only insuredon the punto atm ;)

once i've sold them i'll get my naughty fingers into a jimny.
