What now?
« on: July 30, 2006, 13:09:14 »
Well after some numpty in his girlfriends ford car driving with a provisional licence and bold front tyres nearly hit us head on in my Zafira on Thursday night, i was thinking......

....if the insurance write it off,

what next?,

I'm undecided wheather to get a cheap disco or a crew cab pick up to use for a while to sit on the drive with our little green korean monster?

Well at least i made friday nights burton mail page 3!

I would say from the looks of that the insurance will definately write it off...........but how old is it? I seem to remember being told if it was more than 2 thirds the value of the car then they write it off ...... my dad's mondeo was written off just for a rear bumper cracked and light smashed..........I know it was only a P reg but they gave him a lot of dosh for it all the same

Nasty looking smash. nice to know the zaffi's hold together well (thats what we have) have had 2 disco's, can highly recommend them, but not that great on spares prices or economy - especially the V8 ;)

She'll get the points and fine, so her first car is going to be impossble to insure, even on a KA she may have to wait 3 years before she can drive.

Glad to know you are ok. As a rule its 1/2 the value of the car.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

You came out of it very well.

Thankfully the air-bags & crumple zone worked as they should, & at the end of the day, its's only metal.

I would look at spending a little more and get one thats basically good. Small jobs are ok but you will pobably want to spend cash on upgrades than just getting standard stuff sorted.
I bet PUX has a few bits laying around as he has upgraded his a fair bit.
(I think he is working away for a bit so PM him in a couple of weeks)
