OOPS !
« on: July 30, 2006, 21:22:56 »
Here's a couple of pics of the 2nd track rod of the day. I got a lift back to get this one after bending the 1st on a root.
We straightened that one and reused it for the rest of the day after this one really bent and snapped one of the track rod ends off

These are of the end of the day .

Funny you should say that ! :)
I have spent the afternoon getting the broken trackrod end out and making my own design bar.
1" box sleeving the original so conforms to Arc spec (not welded).

Its getting there,
I am changing the sides a bit to use rear corner windows that I now have.
I would have like to have used a van roof but as I had a csw one I used that.
I have some special filler with ally in it to cover the join and I have siliconed it, so it should be ok.
I just have to re make the roof section of the rollcage now !! 8)
That section of matchams is scetchy. 2 trucks blew half shafts getting up the side.
For anyone that nows the shale mound on the plains thats used to repair the allweather strips its like that !
VERY steep side banks !
Upset about 300 chavs in their novas and saxos waiting to get in to watch the stock cars with my exhaust
Sounds like the bowler on top gear now  8)  8)

Re "the arm" I won an award in my last proper job for having the best tan on a right arm
Re the track rod yes ... Twice
I have just remade it STRONGER and when I fit the southdown axle guard it should be ok.
The chap I bought the 90 from said he had a diff guard so well chuffed when he turned up with that :D
