Is anyone following the eforts of Mr Clarkson to try and kill a toyota Hilux?

When i watched it I was stunned . I never knew anything could take that much Abuse .

That must be the best ad for a Hilux ever .

ANYONE agree ?

Cheers

Rob

I was inpressed to see a Hilux take the abuse the show chuked at it.

But the conditions was that an engineer was allowed half an hour to get the engine running after each abuse. And no new parts on the engine were allowed to be used execpt for a battery.

But as you watch a new radiator was used after the building stunt.

So yes still impressive but they didn't keep to rules.

the early pickup engines were really tough and very simple - thats why you still see so many 20 year old hilux's on film in 3rd world countires.
There is hardly any electrics and everything is very simple and easy to fix. We have a '84 4 runner which is based on the pickup and when you open the bonnet you think somethings missing as there is so much room!!

Still pulls like a train after 200,000 miles and swims in the mud likes it was made for it!!
