Having seen a pic I am dissapointed.
Is it space frame or just a ponced about RR sport ?

The pictutre that robpark posted looks to me like a very early development hack. The pictures in TOR are significantly different. There are a few details on Bowler's website.

Can't wait to see one.

Looking around the net a bit more, have found this which are, from memory, the same CGI renderings in TOR.

It'll be a spaceframe when it's finished, and by my reckonings about 900-1000kgs lighter (in National Spec) than the RRS.

Could be pretty sweet.  8)

Ahhh the Straycat evolves! Looks nice as well, using a large percentage of Off the Shelf RRS Parts.

Yes, it will be made, quote below from link posted earlier.

Quote
The Range Rover Sport-based Nemesis will make its competition debut next January, in the Dakar Rally, the world’s toughest motor sport event, to be driven by Frenchman Thierry Charbonnier. Sales to leading privateers who compete in rally raids and other forms of off-road motor sport will begin soon after.

The idea of satellite TV just got more appealing.

And you'll be able to watch the coverage of the Baja GB on Sky Sport's World Motorsport programme, too!

This from the press release struck me as strange!

Standard geometry, surely not!

LR spent a fair whack o' spendables on getting high-speed handling right on the RRS. Bowler will now be doing what they did with the DII - improving it - no point reinventing the wheel! Be interestin' to see if they build any adjustment into it.

The front wishbones look fairly 'substantial' to say the least!

I agree, and am the first to suggest keeping things standard - I race with a std 3.9 after all!  Alot to be said for using the considerable development budgets of manufacturers to your advantage.  I am well aware how good the high speed handling on the RRS is, just surprised that the suspension geometry will be compatible with the long travel needed for a successful rally raid truck.  Independent suspension and long travel is a little more complicated to get right than the live axle DII set up.

That being said, I know there are some restrictions on how much travel you can have in the rules these days.

Yeah, I'd heard that too. I wonder how that'll impact on the Amercian style pro-trucks that are increasingly rearing thier heads, as they seem to be built on huge travel. Watch this space, as they would say!

Thay've not been that successful in European/African style rally raid events though have they?  Maybe they are already handicapped.

Yeah, something about 'going round corners' and 'sustained effort' seems to be their downfall. Okay, so the Baja is a thousand miles, but that's only three days of Dakar.

You're not wrong there, having seen the stage map there's probably more corners on 1 lap than in the whole of the BAJA 1000. Man it was bad enough on the short stages of YRBC.

H hope you're feeling fit.

Not particularly - I'm running out of time to get fit as well!   Mind you anything will be easy after the mammoth 24mile stage on the Scottish.  That's a killer for both cars and crews.

MuddyMoo is coming on though, fitted new rad and rebuilt front axle corner yesterday.
